Finca La Bendicion is located in Jinotega, Nicaragua. A city surrounded by mountains of the Dariense Isabelia ridge. Here the cool ocean breezes and great deal of rainfall create an ideal tropical climate for coffee trees. Ana Carolina’s 100% red catuai is grown at 1241 MASL on a nano lot that is shaded by native trees. Shade trees protect biodiversity and add to the ecological sustainability of the mountains. Finca La Bendicion is a far trip from the dry mill, requiring a 2 hour journey to get down the mountain. The entire lot is depulped by hand crank without the use of gas nor electric motors. Ana Carolina hopes to build a new wet mill in the coming years and to continue improving her farms yield with the support from Gold Mountain Coffee Growers and direct connections with roasters. We love the peach candy-like notes in this cup! It is packed full of sweet succulent notes of very sweet peach, honey and apple. The sugars in this cup are dark, with almost a butterscotch like body.
