There are a lot of good coffees that come out of Ethiopia to choose from, but every once in a while we find one that just stands out from the crowd. Nano Challa definitely stood out to us this year. A cooperative washing station, Nano Challa has about 100 members who contribute and receive an end of year dividend on top of the regular price per pound. Comprised of an improved upon naturally occurring coffee variety called 1274 and other natural heirloom varieties Nano Challa is pulped and receives a quick fermentation before drying on raised beds. This is a lovely, clean-tasting coffee, with great clarity a light body and notes of Red Berries, Lime and Earl Grey.
