House Blend
Dark Chocolate, Sugar Cane, Apple
House Blend is a coffee designed for our favorite restaurant partners — built to be enjoyed with food, with balanced flavors that hold their own at the table rather than disappearing between bites. The response from our community was so strong that we've opened it up to everyone. If you love coffee with brunch or simply reach for something chocolatey and caramel-forward, this one's for you.
The blend changes components seasonally to keep things fresh while staying true to the profile you know. The first component in this season's House is 50% Mexico Patlanalan. Patlanalan is one of the most remote communities in Puebla. One of Patlanalan’s defining characteristics is that the center of the community holds one of the best-known lagoons in Puebla, the Patlanalan lagoon. The main varieties here are Mundo Novo, Sarchimor, and yellow Caturra. During harvest, producers use family labor for all their work. The producers here have evolved over the last few years from producing mostly natural coffees to increase the quality and consistency of their washed coffees to appeal to larger markets. This coffee brings red apple, brown sugar sweetness, and depth to the blend.
The second part of the blend is 50% percent of a regional lot grown by small and medium size family owned farms in Western El Salvador. These farms are located around the Ilamatepec Volcano. The El Salvador lot adds milk chocolate and caramelized nut notes that we all know and love to House.
