The Farm
In coffee, we often hear words like direct trade or relationship coffee. But at its core, coffee is about people and the connections we build over time. Relationships that grow through trust, shared goals, and care for something bigger than ourselves.
That’s what connects us with Mountain Harvest, a Ugandan company founded in 2017 to reimagine what coffee can be. Locally led and deeply mission-driven, Mountain Harvest works toward a future where smallholder farmers thrive, not just survive.
Our coffee buyer has been working alongside their team since 2019, building a partnership grounded in collaboration, shared learning, and the belief that quality and impact can grow together. In the Kajere community on the northern ridge of Mount Elgon, a young team is leading that change. In a country where half the population is under 17, they’re gaining expertise in processing, quality, and regenerative farming to build a more sustainable coffee future.
In just its second year, Kajere Station earned 1st Place in the Honey Processed Category at the Taste of Harvest Africa 2025, marking Uganda’s first win at this level of competition. It’s a milestone that celebrates both an exceptional coffee and the relationships behind it.
Kajere Honey is layered and expressive, with notes of apricot, rooibos tea, and honey and a buttery finish. It represents loyalty in action — learning, growing, and moving forward together.
