The Farm
This washed lot from Gogogu is soft, structured, and effortlessly drinkable, with notes of honeydew, white peach, and agave. Clean and floral, it's everything we love about high-elevation coffee from Ethiopia’s Guji zone.
Gogogu comes to us from the remote kebele of Dida Haro Hada Raro in Uraga, Guji, one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee regions. This rugged, high-altitude region is hard to reach, especially during the long rainy season, yet producers here deliver coffee cherry to the central washing station by horse, mule, or donkey — often traveling up to 90 minutes on foot on muddy, washed-out trails. Climate change has made that trek even harder, extending rains well beyond their usual window and limiting the number of good harvest days.
Coffees from Uraga are known for their elegant florals, layered stone fruit, and vibrant, tea-like acidity. Over the past two decades, it’s become one of the most sought-after microregions in Ethiopia thanks to its soaring elevations, rich biodiversity, and the deep-rooted coffee wisdom of its smallholder producers.
